When you’re thinking with regards to ditching those plastic water bottles, I don’t blame you! What you’re soon going to find out is that when you switch to a recycling water bottle, you’re not only going to save money, you’re going to be saving the environs as well! Since there are so some bottles out there, one of my favorites is Camelback. They have great reviews online, as well as a great selection to choose from.
Below are a few things that you’re going to want to look into, when you’re ready to make a purchase. Surprisingly, there is more to a water bottle, than just drinking from it. This is where galore people make a mistake, because they just pick one off the shelf and just make a purchase.
Make sure it’s BPA free - Many bottles are BPA free and if they are, they are going to publicize it. BPA is a known endocrine that is found in hard plastics, as well as canned goods. Since you’re going to be drinking from plastic, you’re going to want to be as healthful as possible.
Consider an ice stick - Many water bottles today have a very cool feature where you may freeze an ice stick and place it in the bottle. By doing this, you’re going to keep your drink cooler a lot longer. The cool thing in regards to this is that you’re going to find that the ice won’t melt into your drink, watering it down.
Don’t be cheap – Don’t go out and buy a cheap water bottle. Instead, you’re going to want to spend at least $15 to $20. By spending this kind of cash on a bottle, you’re going to find that you’re going to get something that is going to last for a while.
Now that you know what to look for, I did a great deal of exploration on a good deal of online merchants who sells goods at retail and the following brands are what I came up with when I was doing my homework.
- Camelback BPA Free Better Bottle with Bite Valve — It’s BPA free and will run you around $20 tops.
-
0.75 LIter Insulated -A outstanding carrier that is going to keep your liquids cold for a long time. Has a ton of reviews and they are all very positive.
-
21 Ounce Chill Jacket - The last one on the list is this “chill jacket” version. Great for keeping liquids cold and will run around $15.

Heavy, bulky, leaky and .. By U. Cetin I bought this bottle to replace my 500ml Camelbak bottle. I really liked the old bottle but the folding bite part broke after 2+ yrs of intense use. This bottle is a lot heavy and feels bulky for a 600ml water bottle. Although I didn’t have any leakage problem in the previous one, this one tends to leak, too. Also, contrary to the statement on manufacturer’s web site, water condensates outside if the liquid in it is cold (icy water) and if you are in a hot and humid environment. However, the ice in the bottle lasts longer without melting.

Toss the rest – this is the best By Can you hear me now? I bought some of these for my daughter to replace her non-insulated camelbak bottles for day care and they ended up being better in other ways. First off – I have a lot of water bottles, I use them for biking, hiking, taking to work, in the car… I also have several regular camelbaks. The previous version of these also have a tube that runs to the bottom so you don’t have to tip it to drink – but these are much easier to clean. The tube and bite valve pull off the cap – and then all 3 go into the dishwasher. The previous version had the silicone bite valve piece exending through the cap – so they were more difficult to clean, and prone to leaking. These have a sturdy handle which is comfortable to use to carry them, or you can hook it on a carabiner. The bite valve pushes up under the handle if you want to keep it out of the way. No cap to unscrew, no tip to pull out with your teeth, no need to tilt to drink, no leaking, and it’s insulated.
Goodwill is going to get a box full of nice water bottles from me because we aren’t using anything but these…

The “better” bottle needs to be better By J. Sev I purchased this item because I was looking for a water bottle I could take with me during my commute that was leak proof and insulated to pack with ice water during the hot summers. As soon as I got it in the mail, I tried it out at home where we keep the temperature at around 73 degrees (in other words, not “hot”). I noticed condensation on the outside of the bottle within the hour. To make matters worse, the bottle does leak. Also, compared to my old insulated stainless steel water bottle, the ice melts way faster, the water doesn’t seem as cold, and the water bottle doesn’t hold nearly as much water. One positive about this bottle is that I find myself drinking more water due to the novelty of the bite and sip valve.
Needless to say, I suggest looking elsewhere.
