Bought for one job

Lets get right too the point while I have your attention.. This tool was designed for one specific purpose, you get a clean straight cut the first time every time PERIOD, no fuss and no worry.. Festool designed this tool to be used with the least effort and setup and maximum safety in operation. The saw just glides on the rail and the ease of use means you will not struggle to get your cut, thus you work safer and the tool does the job not you…. I take the time to walk my tool down the guide rail before I cut, I want to insure my work area will not leave me with the cord caught or too short to complete the cut. Think your way through your project and enjoy your Festool it will serve you well.
I got the TS 75 EQ though the 55 would have done the job, I just did not wish to find out some day in the future that I would need the extra capacity of the 75, so I bought that one rather than the smaller TS 55. I would have been happy to rent this tool but there were no rentals in my area and I was tired of trying to get a straight cut with inferior tools and techniques, not to mention all the ways to loose a finger with other methods of making a long straight cut. I considered the others brands out there, Makita, but no one in my area stocks them and DeWalt though I found that unit did not slide easy on the guide rail. I have no idea why local shops do not stock either of those saws and since I could not see a Makita in person and was not happy with what I saw in the DeWalt, I made the big move and bought the Festool, I do not regret the purchase !
I must say that with only one job in sight for this saw and the big price I was reluctant, but the simple fact is, would I rather buy a cheaper inferior product made in China ? or spend a few extra dollars and get a quality item made in Germany ! This saw worked so well I bought a Festool sander the next day ! !

As all Festool products, this saw seems to be expensive,but not really considering the quality of the tool and its features! For overall quality, Festools are the best value for the money. trite, but so true, “you get what you pay for”, and this ceretainly is no exception.

dissapointment after all that hype

At the beginning of the year I decided to take on a woodworking hobby. The idea was to do some projects around the house, for friends and maybe later some semi commercial projects to recover the cost spent on the tools.
I have a pretty good exposure to woodworking as it was a passion in my family and I grew up helping my father and grandfather in their workshops.
I did not want to restrict myself to any niche type projects where the tools are specialized but rather keep my horizon open for any kind of projects.
After some research it was easy to come with an order of priority for the tools. Table saw, jointer, planer etc. A new buzz was about the Festool saw combined with their workbench table.
After reading a number of articles and weighting all things I liked the easier transportation, safety and compactness claims. The price tag was very high, higher than most the best cabinet saws on the market but after sitting on the fence for a while I decided to go Festool.
One of the drawbacks of the Festool saw was the fact that it was not doing parallel cuts.
To avoid that problem I also forked out several hundred dollars to get it. So I bought the newest saw TS 75 etc etc, the newest multifunctional table MTFT3 and the parallel system for repetitive cuts.
That totaled about 2000 S after taxes.
